Abstract:	It is expected that one of the topics that will have a greater impact in this 21st century will be the training of graduate students, information professionals and users in general on information skills. This will underscore the value that universities and libraries offer to citizens. According to recent scientific literature the main trends that currently affect and will affect information trainers and professionals in the near future include: learning based on competencies and multi-literacy; pedagogic and didactic changes; technological developments; and all the aspects related to education, information, economic and technology policies and movements. Training in these matters and awareness of the theoretical and practical advances in information literacy are needed so that information professionals can achieve better information literacy and consequently be better information literacy trainers.
Other Abstracts:	Se prevé que uno de los temas de mayor impacto de este siglo XXI será la formación de graduados, profesionales de la información y usuarios en general en competencias informacionales. De esta forma se realzará el valor que las instituciones universitarias-académicas y las bibliotecas aportan al aprendizaje. Revisada la literatura científica se observa que las principales tendencias que están afectando actualmente y que afectarán en un futuro próximo a los docentes y a los profesionales de biblioteconomía y documentación son: formación por competencias y multialfabetización; cambios pedagógicos y didácticos; desarrollos tecnológicos; y todo lo relacionado con las políticas y movimientos educativos, documentales, económicos y tecnológicos. Formarse en dichas tendencias y estar atentos a los avances teóricos y prácticos en alfabetización informacional es una necesidad para lograr que cada día los profesionales de la información estén mejor alfabetizados informacionalmente y sean mejores alfabetizadores informacionales.
