Cirugía de columna en gestantes: serie de casos multicéntricos y propuesta de algoritmo de tratamiento

Las enfermedades de la columna que requieren tratamiento quirúrgico urgente son raras durante el embarazo. La evidencia es escasa y los datos solo están disponibles en forma de informes de casos. Nuestro objetivo es brindar una guía completa para la cirugía de columna en pacientes embarazadas y resaltar los aspectos diagnósticos y terapéuticos.

Los procedimientos quirúrgicos de la columna vertebral durante el embarazo parecen ser seguros. La indicación de la cirugía debe ser muy estricta y los procedimientos quirúrgicos durante el embarazo deben reservarse para casos de emergencia. Para las pacientes embarazadas, la estrategia quirúrgica debe adaptarse individualmente a la madre y al feto.
