El injerto autólogo de tendón semitendinoso podría funcionar como un trasplante de menisco
La meniscectomía da como resultado una función deficiente de la rodilla y un mayor riesgo de osteoartritis. El trasplante de aloinjerto de menisco no se usa ampliamente debido a los costos y la disponibilidad. El tendón semitendinoso (ST) tiene el potencial de remodelar y revascularizar en un entorno intraarticular, como la reconstrucción del LCA. El objetivo de este estudio piloto fue investigar si el injerto ST podría funcionar como un trasplante de menisco.
Aunque este es principalmente un informe técnico, los datos de seguimiento indican que el trasplante sobrevive y se adapta en forma y capacidades a un menisco original. No hubo eventos adversos y los pacientes parecen mejorar en términos de dolor y calidad de vida.
