Abstract:	Librarianship like many other professions has undergone through substantial changes since the implementation of new technologies. Librarians have gone from information management to the creation of documentary sources from the digitization of contents. This has forced librarians to acquire new knowledge as those relating to the publishing industry to create new sources of information. In this way documents such as lecture notes, preprints of scientific papers, theses and other valuable works found in digital libraries a place to be preserved. However, to achieve these goals it is necessary to address issues such as copyright. This short paper tries to explain the generalities about copyright under the Latin-American legal system and how it should be understood and managed to avoid legal complications, and in turn allow the widest possible access to the contents of the so-called "gray literature"
Other Abstracts:	La profesión bibliotecaria al igual que muchas otras ha sufrido cambios sustanciales a partir de la implementación de nuevas tecnologías. Los bibliotecarios han tenido que pasar de la administración de recursos de información a la creación de fuentes documentales a partir de la digitalización de contenidos. Este hecho obliga a los bibliotecarios a tener conocimientos nuevos como los son los relativos a la industria editorial y con los que se pretende poner a disposición nuevas fuentes de información. De esta forma documentos tales como notas de clase, versiones preliminares de artículos científicos, tesis y otros trabajos valiosos encuentran en las bibliotecas digitales un lugar dónde preservarse y difundirse. Sin embargo, para lograr estos objetivos es necesario atender temas tales como los derechos de autor. Con este breve texto se pretende exponer las generalidades que anteceden la importancia de esta rama del derecho y cómo es que debe ser comprendida y administrada para evitar complicaciones jurídicas y a su vez permitir el mayor acceso posible a los contenidos de la llamada “literatura gris”
