Web 2.0 y medicina en español
El próximo 26 de octubre tendrá lugar en El Escorial las VII Jornadas MEDES con el título "Web 2.0 y medicina en español" y en la que se plantearan tres mesas redondas:
-La información biomédica en español en la web 2.0
-El médico como profesional colaborativo en la web 2.0
-El ciudadano como consumidor de información sobre salud en el entorno de la web 2.0.
La Web 2.0 (denominada como Web social) ha sufrido una eclosión en los últimos años, eclosión en todas las facetas de nuestra vida. De ello no puede ser ajeno la publicación biomédica en español.
De los efectos más relevantes surgidos de la naturaleza misma de la Web 2.0, destacan dos que están suponiendo un cambio en el paradigma de la información sanitaria:
-El primer efecto es la desaparición de intermediarios entre la fuente de la información y el receptor, que a su vez, puede modificarla, actualizarla y aportar referencias a la misma para guiar a otros usuarios hacia una información perfeccionada. Este fenómeno emergente de la Web 2.0 se le ha dado el nombre de apomediación.
-El segundo efecto es el fortalecimiento de la tendencia hacia la emancipación del paciente (patient empowerment).
Ya la Asamblea Mundial de la Salud, el órgano decisorio de la OMS, aprobó en 2005 una resolución en la que se hace hincapié en la importancia de la eHealth o Cibersalud. Esto conlleva que los servicios web sanitarios se deben nutrir con la tecnología ya conocida de la Web 1.0, la emergente Web 2.0 y la futura Web 3.0 (Web semántica). En el mundo de la publicación biomédica esto es prioritario.
En Evidencias en Pediatría tenemos como valores de nuestro proyecto la defensa de la publicación de calidad en español y el apoyo a la difusión libre y gratuita de la información a través de Internet (y esencialmente de las redes sociales y otros recursos de la Web 2.0). Por eso Evidencias en Pediatría estará presente en esta reunión, para defender estos principios comunes alproyecto MEDES.
De estos temas trataremos en la próxima Jornada MEDES. Allí coincidiremos en las mesas redondas un buen número de compañeros y amigos del mundo de la Blogosfera. Abajo os dejamos el programa, por si deseáis participar y acompañarnos en esta reunión.
